Where our products come from

Icewood Atelier's range is made up of two kinds of products.

 

Most of what we sell is our own handiwork: we design and 3D print it ourselves, right here in our workshop in Finland. These items are always clearly marked "Designed and made in Finland."

 

Our range also includes complementary products — tools, supplies and materials — that we don't make ourselves. We choose these carefully and order them from trusted, established European businesses, never directly from bargain wholesale platforms or direct-to-consumer marketplaces like Temu or Shein.

 

As with most of retail worldwide, some of the manufacturing behind our complementary products may originally take place in Asia — that's standard practice across the whole industry, not something specific to us. What matters to us is who we order from ourselves and who stands behind the product's quality: we never order directly from low-cost platforms aimed at consumers.

 

We love supporting European production, and especially the work of small, independent makers, whenever we can. For example, the Kanthal hooks we use used to come from China, but we switched to handmade ones from a small Italian maker as soon as we found one. If you know of a similar small-scale maker — say, someone who crafts wooden tools by hand — we'd love to hear about it!
