3D-Printed Pottery Rib Tool – different models

This HARD clay rib is a rigid shaping tool for pottery throwing and hand-building. Its firm profile enables controlled smoothing, surface compression, and precise refinement of curves, transitions, and contours on clay.

 

The rib does not flex under pressure, making it ideal for clean lines and steady shaping during the throwing process. The tool is 3D printed from PLA and produced made to order at Icewood Atelier’s workshop in Finland. The rib is intended exclusively for craft use and is not suitable for food or kitchen applications.

 

After use, the tool can be cleaned with mild soap and water, dried thoroughly, and stored away from high heat and prolonged sunlight, as PLA may soften at elevated temperatures.

Each piece is individually produced to order, and minor surface marks typical of 3D printing may be present.
