Botz 9090 Ceramic Ink is a highly pigmented ink for bringing out crackle (craquelé) patterns and surface textures on fired, glazed ceramics. Sponge it over the crackled glaze, let it settle into the fine cracks and rinse off the excess – the crackle network stands out clearly in dark ink.
Key Features:
- Highly pigmented ceramic ink by Botz (Germany)
- Highlights crackle glaze effects and surface structures
- Works with crackle glazes from any manufacturer
- Applied after firing – the ink is not fired
- Bottle size: 36 ml
How to use:
- After the glaze firing, sponge the ink over the entire glazed surface so it settles into the cracks.
- Rinse the piece under water – the excess ink washes off the smooth glaze surface, leaving a dark line in each crack.
- For a coarse crackle pattern, apply the ink soon after firing; for a finer network, wait up to a week as the crackle keeps developing.
