This DIY kit is the perfect project for potters looking to combine clay work with practical home decor. These weights are perfect for keeping your linens in place during breezy outdoor dinners while adding a handcrafted touch to your table.

 

Important note! Kit does not include clay.

 

The kit includes:

• 6 High-Temperature Wire Hooks: Heat resistant up to 1300°C.
• 6 Metal Clips: Sturdy clips for easy attachment.
• 12 Wooden Beads: A curated selection of natural tones (black, white, and wood).
• Jute Twine: Authentic twine for a rustic finish.

 

💡 Crafting & Firing Guide:

Shaping: Shape your clay as desired (e.g., flowers, leaves, or stones). Embed the wire hook directly into the wet clay while shaping to ensure a permanent bond during firing.

 

Firing: To prevent glaze from sticking to your kiln shelves, use kiln stilts (firing pins) during the glaze fire. If your weights are heavy, we recommend placing them on stilts rather than hanging them from kiln rods to prevent the rods from bending under the weight.

 

Finishing: After firing, there may be small sharp points from the stilts. These can be easily smoothed out using a standard metal file.

 

Assembly: Once your ceramic pieces are finished, assemble them by threading two wooden beads onto the jute twine and tying both the ceramic piece and the metal clip securely.
