The listed dimensions are the size of the tool, i.e. the wet clay. Clay shrinks during drying and firing, usually around 5–15%, and the final size of your piece always depends on your own clay and firing temperature. For example, with a 10 cm size and 12% shrinkage, the finished piece would be about 8.8 cm. Please check your clay's shrinkage before ordering and choose the size accordingly.

Add a playful dripping border to cups, mugs, vases and planters with this Drip Border Cutter. It cuts a narrow strip of flowing drips that you attach around the rim of your piece – think dripping honey, frosting, melting snow or running glaze.
The cutter measures approx. 230 × 27 mm with a 16 mm cutting height. For a larger piece, simply cut several strips and join them end to end – the seams blend easily into the drip pattern.
How to use
1. Roll out an even clay slab.
2. Always use a release layer – the thin drips break easily when you lift the cutter. Cling film works best: lay it over the slab, press the cutter through it and roll firmly over the cutter with a rolling pin so every drip is cut cleanly. The film gives the edges a slightly softer finish. Cornstarch or another release agent can also be used.
3. Lift the cutter carefully and peel off the film.
4. Score and slip the rim and the back of the strip, then attach it around your piece.
