The listed dimensions are the size of the tool, i.e. the wet clay. Clay shrinks during drying and firing, usually around 5–15%, and the final size of your piece always depends on your own clay and firing temperature. For example, with a 10 cm size and 12% shrinkage, the finished piece would be about 8.8 cm. Please check your clay's shrinkage before ordering and choose the size accordingly.

A classic, clean oval cutter for clay – the simple shape you keep coming back to for platters, trays, tiles, coasters, jewelry and soap dishes. The smooth outline and thin cutting edge give neat, repeatable results every time.
Available in ten sizes from 25 mm up to 250 mm (the size refers to the length of the oval). The larger sizes are made to pair with our oval molds: for the 250 × 110 mm Oval Drape Mold or the Oval Mold, choose the 240 mm or 250 mm cutter. Looking for a decorative edge? See our Oval Scallop Cutter.
Tip: cut soft or leather-hard clay. If the clay sticks, dust the cutter lightly with cornstarch or lay a thin plastic film over the slab before cutting.
Each cutter is 3D-printed to order, so please allow a few extra days before shipping.
