Soap Maker’s Set – molds for soap dish

Create your own beautiful soap dish with this versatile mold set. You can choose between two versions:

• Straight edges

• Decorative wavy edges

Each set includes:

• Main cutter (straight or wavy, depending on version)

• Smaller support cutter: place the dish on it while drying to preserve its shape. It can also be used as a cutter.

• Wooden center piece with holes: press the rolled and cut clay onto a foam block, then use the holes as guides to mark the spots.

Mold sizes:

• Straight edges: 96.78 × 131.07 × 12 mm

• Wavy edges: 85.49 × 129.57 × 12 mm

Finished dish size (made with light basic clay after firing): approx. 11 × 8 cm.

Instructions

1. Roll out an even clay slab and cut the shape with the main cutter (straight or wavy).

2. Place the clay slab on a foam block (optionally with cling film on top).

3. Put the wooden center piece on the clay and press gently so the clay shapes into the foam. Use the holes to mark spots for drainage.

4. Remove the clay from the foam and make the holes on the table (e.g., with a straw). Smooth the edges if needed.

5. Place the dish on the smaller support cutter to dry – this keeps the shape straight.

6. Let it dry completely. Fire and glaze according to your clay manufacturer’s instructions.

Note!

In the example images, I have used Japani-sarjan kaulimet – keramiikkapintojen kuviounelma – Icewood Atelier (Japan 3, BIG) for the decorative flower imprint on the clay.
