Our negative molds feature a recessed shape that allows the clay slab to shrink safely away from the walls as it dries. This means the clay can remain in the mold throughout the entire drying process without cracking — a reliable choice for makers who value precision and ease.

 

And here’s a fun bonus: When flipped upside down, a negative mold can also be used as a positive mold. Not everyone needs that feature, but it adds an extra layer of versatility for those who enjoy experimenting with different forming techniques.

 

To complete the workflow, our cutter collection includes matching cutters that help you trim the clay slab to the perfect size before shaping.

 

All molds and cutters are 3D‑printed from PLA, and produced in Finland, and intended for non‑food use.
